Same mentality as to why people give the police the wrong name- the "they'll never figure it out." mentality----

I think the best part of the story is the box on the page where it informs us that not many people survive being shot in the head.  Like, I never would have guessed!

They filled out that story in the course of the day. I reckon the first version was the funniest where it read like the wife was pretending she had nothing to do with it.

I feel there is an untold irony there: my hypothesis is that the wife tries to murder the husband, fails, the husband wakes up, the woman flees.

And then the police decides not to charge the husband for possession of firearms to avoid paying for the treatment.

Isn't the police trying to *help* the wife in this case? (also presenting charges to her, because once the guy comes out of the hospital guess what will happen to that woman).
