Still finding my way arounf here.  I did post a similar one elsewhere but to follow form I will repeat here.

My name here is Bluenose, formerly Oz_Nick over there.

For those who may be interested (if you are not, don't read the following) "bluenose" is the common name of a favourite endangered fish of mine, AKA the trout cod, Maccullochella macquariensis.  If you're really interested in this fish, you can read all about it at http://www.nativefish.asn.au, just go to the Fish Files and look up trout cod.

I don't know.  It seems to me that part of the reason for the difference is that Europe got rid of most of its religious fanatics by exporting them to America. ;)  There must b some reason for the prevalence of religious extremism in the USA, or at least in parts of it.

Frankly I find it ironic that the country that has in many ways led the world in scientific endeavour over the last century or so has such a large proportion of people that seem to be embarking on a flight from reason.  it is sad and more than a little bit scary.

Dear Trying,

You cannot be held responsible for the merely physical properties of your body.  Try being spiritually tolerant of lactose, even as you avoid the unfortunate consequences of actually ingesting the stuff, by not eating any.

So long as you tolerate the existance of lactose, even its proximaty to yourself, good karma will flow.  No one said you have to eat it to tolerate it.

Hmmm,

My previous post in this thread did not go where I thought it would go.  I thought it was going on the thread DaveL started asking of the Pirates can come over here.

I think I need to get used to how this forum works, because it seem top be a bit different to most of the forums I usually inhabit.

Anyway, glad to be here.

Dee Dee, I am very happy that you are here, I hope you are well.  I was not amused about what happened over there and have not posted there since I found out about Bobby's heavy handed actions.  Maybe it will work out OK, I'll maintain a watching brief for a while to see if it does sort itself out.

Whatever, I think i may be here for the duration, I like the looks of this place.
