Current Events / Re: Fire storm

I am crying for my country right now, and I feel I should be at home during this time. That is absolutely shocking. I have been away for a while and no internet access so these fires went from not too much of a problem to nearly 200 people dead. I know how scary this can be, I had to work through the Canberra bush fires, climbing on my roof to clear the gutters when I was around 12 years old, it is a terrifying time where you have to try not to think that after that day you may be homeless.

My tears and heart go out to all those people who have lost those lives, allo those people in hospital, and all those people who are scared at the moment. Peace and good luck.

Honestly, I'm fairrrly ignorant of the wider picture, I have a general idea from college history but not too much else.

But currently, I'm just 100% fed up with israel, it just keeps on Bullying poor old palestine until there is nothing left, I'm sick to death of the prejudice against them. People cry out for the past prejeduice against the jews, but what about the current ones against the muslim people these days? It's just as bad (except 6 million haven't been killed in a couple of years...yet).

I'm sick to death of Israel. An old teacher of mine used to live in Israel, and she recounted to us one day when the bomb sirens went off, so they all went into the shelters like usual, except this time she couldn't get to one in time, and what she saw was not a bomb threat falling in the area, it was Israeli fighter jets on a bombing raid. They sounded the siren to make sure the majority of the population didn't see the israeli airforce bombing the shit out of civilians. It's disgraceful.

I am not sure any security can prevent a really determined attack.

I dunno...Fidel Castro survived 638 known and documented plots to kill him whilst he was in power...

I'm so proud of America right now, suddenly they don't seem so stupid...Finally some people in office that have the power to make a difference. I hope.

Edit: Oh boy, I only jsut then watched his inaguration speech.
Wonderful!
I got all teary and got butterflys when he said "Your people will remember you by what you build, not what you destroy"

Chapter sixteen
-----------------------------

Nude teenagers were streaking across the watermelon patch with abandon. Striped socks became muddy symbols of bourgeois trotskyism, undermining the prudish prudency of age.  Over the course of Tuesday's passing salivating pervs lined up for vaccination at the local seamstress Union lodge. Their aprons were worn to prevent burns from curling irons suspended from the chandeliers. From there one could with ease pick several of these Union jabs. The semi-nudes performed mime. The full-nudes sang arias about squirrels. Never had they conceived, being virgins. Mary Squirrel, Archon Basileus of the Midsomer Zombies, grasped the hard throbbing replacement heart brought by Igors 'R Us Inc. before anyone else tried to take a stance on macroeconomics.

Haha yeah but so many people don't take "eternal damnation" Seriously.

I haven't met many christians (and believe me, I've known MANY in my shrot life) that have ACTUALLY feared hell, of course they knew it was a bad place, but I haven't met any that are genuinly scared of it...So either they don't believe fully, or they have absolutely no doubt in their mind that they're going to Heaven...If I were religious i don't think I could have that much faith..I mean...there are a lot of sins to commit without knowing!

But it's not the religion its self that causes all the problems, it's the religous who take them too seriously!

It's the people who read the bible as something other than a story book to gain morales from!

Excellent! That's the bestnews I've read all day!

As for the Article on the church, that's the most annoying article i've read all day! I know we're supposed to be tolerant, humble, etc. etc. But god [pun] I hate religion, specially the catholic church.

Politics / So close...
January 19, 2009, 06:26:12 AM
Being so close to Obama taking over the reigns to the world, I'm curious;

Who believes that time will make him just another, annoying politician, and how fast do you think this will take to happen

Or;

Do people honestly believe he will be a positive change and stay true to his words, a new direction for the United States?
