I've heard there are warnings about 'audio drugs' that teh kids are abusing.  Binaural beats and such...  some of which is mild mind-candy or meditative but certainly not an abusable 'substance'.

All these alternative attempts at mind expansion need to be frowned upon, lest they cut into the market share of state-approved, made-in-USA prescription pharmaceuticals and military-sponsored video games.  


The part that I get a giggle about is how these dire warnings tend to put the idea in a kid's head about whatever the current scare is, and spread knowledge of it far faster and farther than it would otherwise.  When it's something accessible and harmless (audio drugs), it's going to create a lot more 'users' for a while.  When it's something ineffective but gross/potentially dangerous like jenken, it will probably lead to at least a few extra kids willing to try it... hey, the news says it works, must be true.

I believe Jenken was a hoax started by some teen in the US. It appears that it worked very well, but the this is Fox News...

Talking about advertising illicit drugs, there was the incident in Canada, iirc, where people were warned about licking the back of a specific type of toad that was being sold as a pet. Sales sky-rocketed after that.
