I haven't been to TOP in a long time.  I went there several months back and didn't recognize very many, so I left.

I post on Topix on the evolution debate.  There is a thread there on FSM and I post fairly regularly, but it is most just "Yarr" and pirate stuff like that.

There were several new threads today about the article DeeDee posted.

Sad, sad, sad...the Pastafarian mythos was nicely worked out, more 'enchanting' (term the would-have-been documentary folks used) than the IPU and quite cheerfully accepted. The demise of the ultra-popularity caused by a positive outcome at Dover combined with whatever Bobby's problem is caused a loss of interest from a LOT of people that WOULD have worked the topic into some reasonable academic studies long ago.

Several people that contacted me about the possibilities of actual educational/scientific interest in using it as a teaching tool were never able to get Bobby to respond. (Too busy sitting on mountaintops with guys that had someone trying to sell cellphone ringtones based on FSM while the guys and the sucker, errr, prophet 'meditated' on the contract for a videogame, I suppose.) His becoming a recluse did him, the movement and 'enlightenment' of any kind no good at all.

As we know, Bobby wanted me disassociated from EVERYTHING to do with FSM, as a spokesperson of any kind...and, although he took a while to actually DO anything, his weirdness toward started after he got the videodisc of the first Texas meeting, in Austin. (Interesting meeting. Met WoE then. WoE sorta drifted off, later Bobby cans me, WoE becomes an Admin....and the gossip-senders had LOTS to say about that. Shame, because I like(d) WoE.) A number of the people that had an actual interest in DOING something educational with the FSM concept asked me to participate in their projects, especially after the Bobby thing. I guess they figured that if he wasn't interested in doing anything with the concept, maybe I would be. Funny, I told them to get a signed release from Bobby allowing me to discuss FSM and my personal (not official, but personal) experience--and that was that!!

I figure when a self-described "physics graduate" won't respond to e-mails from MIT, he's really not interested in doing anything with his 'creation'.

AH, well, someone who worked with him on his "book" described him as a total lazy-ass slacker, and a whiner to boot. (The publishing house was miffed that it was not more compatible with the forums--THAT may have been Booby's issue.)

Whatever it is that keeps him from having any motivation beyond--whatever the hell he does--has made the whole FSM thing exactly what he claims to have NOT wanted...

With some reluctance I excised FSM hints from my PhD thesis as a result of this sad affair. Maybe I should follow the way of Mrs. Cosmopilite (No. 3 Quirm Street, AM) instead

I think Mrs. Cosmopolite would be a much more worthy guru.

I doubt she'd sell taco photography to try to keep from having to get a job, or to support a trip to Thailand to blog (whine?) about the girlfriend that won't leave her home town.

With the shape and structure of a taco one could do a lot more.
Me thinks your friend need to study a bit art history for inspiration before next shooting session...

I've sort of left it too. I still claim it on places like Facebook because then I don't have to explain the constant religious flux I live in. I almost miss it, but then I remember what a douche he was. As if we were impeding on him by, you know, liking his creation and buying stuff from him, and giving him the opportunity to do something with it.
