I wonder where the outcry is for ugly endangered species...but I digress.

There was a push for a while to create a genetic clone of the Tasmanian Tiger...but many claimed that since carnivores learn hunting behaviors from their parents, they would not essentially be true Tasmanian tigers, ect.

I am all for saving endangered species and attempting to resurrect lost species...But that is mainly because I have always wondered what it would be like to hunt a mammoth with spears, or quagga, or see an aurochs up close....

I am anti Hillary simply because she wont stand her ground AND is so antigun it makes me cringe.

As I have said in the past: I will give up all of my guns just as soon as all people in politics give up their armed guards.

This would be a lot funnier if it was so frighteningly close to the truth....

Next Thursday is my "final out" day for being on Active Duty, US Army. Sometime in the first week of December I have to drive to Seagoville, TX (and if anyone lives very close to there, I could use a place to stay on drill weekends, as it is nearly a four hour drive for me.)

I will soon have a lot of time off, and hopefully custody of my daughter. One of the things to do on my Agenda of Important Stuff is to start fixing the local library here in Apache, OK. It is a little library, but a full half of the books in it are religion related. Take a wild guess at which religion?  I am intending to get together with the librarian, and start making annoying phonecalls to our congressmen and senators and see what we can get done to modernize the place a bit.

Nothing is sadder than a poorly stocked library.

On the other hand, they do have just about every Southern Living cookbook every printed, so there is some redeeming social value.....

These people are the reason the Patriot Guard Riders exist. I am a member, and me and my scooter have attended one ride to escort soldiers home from the Airport. What the PGR does is provides security and privacy for families of dead servicemembers. IF the WBC nuts show up, they have a large double row of peaceful bikers with American Flags blocking them from the grieving family.

BTW, is there a toadfish emblem I can put on either my scooter or my helmet? I already have a skull and bones on the front, and an FSM on the helmet. Many of the other riders have asked me about my beliefs. Most of them are Christian, but are good natured guys, as motorcyclists tend to be.

Rest assured, had there been a problem, the local PGR chapter would have mobilized.

Hey, I showered and everything!!

I plan on irritating the bejeezus out of Capi, simply to test the limits of her "allowing all thoughts to be expressed".

I think I may get her uppity New Yawk head to explode yet. ;D

Miscellaneous Discussion / Going Hollywood

I have been sticking around the FSM board mainly just to tie up loose ends. I have noticed some interesting changes there in the tone.....

But here is my main observation: Since the book has been moderately successful, it seems that the science has been dumbed down and the marketing aspect has been played up. I still do not speak as freely as I would, and certain wanna be supermods have taken on a tone so magnanimous that the smug waves are sucking all the oxygen out.

I have seen this before. Those of you from the south may recognize the name Kenny Wayne Shephard. He was a moderately successful white blues guitarist. He made one moderately successful album in the mid 90s. Since then, he has done little except proclaim that he is the second coming of Stevie Ray Vaughn.....

I think this may be what Bobbo is experiencing. Lets face it. The FSM idea is simply a slightly modified variant of the IPU set to a more marketable form.

Hopefully, this forum will encourage more scientific discussion. As I have recently discovered that several of my colleagues are creationists, I realize what a hard job we have ahead of us. IF people who work in a heavy science field such as medical laboratory research and testing believe in creationism, what hope is there for your average high school student?
