Hey kids!  I was just reading something interesting and I want your input on what browser you have had problems with here.  Please respond as it will help with fixing the forum.

Thanks,
Darren

The Meromorph

I voted IE6, Iactually use IE6 (work) and IE7 (home).

That's strike one!  ;D

Does the monastery look okay with IE7?

Darren996

Test post wrapped IE6, just logged in.  ::)

Really!  Cool! I don't have to fix it for IE7 yeah!  I heard pacecomputer.com looks like crap in IE7.  That's another site I work on.

Do you get session verification problems in IE7?

beagle

www.pacecomputer.com looks slightly knackered in both IE7 and Firefox currently:
------
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
------

Tried to look at it to see if could describe IE7 issues for you...

P.S. - no session problems on IE7 for me at the monastery.

Thanks for looking at it!  Are you still getting problems for www.pacecomputer.com?

beagle

Yep, exactly same problem at 23:05 GMT in both IE7 and Firefox.

I also tried generating a request by telnetting to port 80 manually, just in case browsers had cached the failure - same message.

Sorry, have to go now...

Unfortunately don't think it's anything simple like forgetting to set home page redirection since links found through Google like
http://www.pacecomputer.com/news-and-events/tech-support-hours.html

show same behaviour.

Thanks beagle!  I will email my hosting service.

Bob in a quantum-state-of-faith

Today, I got a slew of "session timeout" errors-- and I ONLY use IE7 for the "official windoze" crap.

ALL ELSE is FireFox all the way.

However-- I DID only a 1/2 hour ago, discover that my hub/switch/firewall black box has died.

I'm direct to my cable-modem as I write this, and I have blazing speeds again.  (and DON'T have the timeout issue-- so far)

I'll go and purchase a new black box tomorrow-- I'll have to go offline meanwhile.  I won't leave it connected for any length of time without a hardware firewall.

Sometimes, the real journey can only be taken by making a mistake.

my webpage-- alas, Cox deleted it--dead link... oh well ::)
