We are lucky, theologians now think that 666 is a false reading. But bars are hellish enough, especially gay ones (gaiety is a classical no-no for this type of Kristians^TM).

One thing that came up in some conversations I had long ago about the apocalypse is that the things mentioned are signals that the time is comming, IOW, it isn't satan's fault if the moon is red, or in this case, if we use barcode upcs or RF chips; those are just elements that would be around at the time.

In any case it is quite likely (according to some) that the mark of the beast was the face of Caesar in the common coinage of the Roman Empire, in which case the 2nd coming already happened and the guy most likely ended as Lion-chow...
