Heck, the Good News Channel has already been subverted by bad news IMHO

I fully intend for it to be translated into good news, as this guy has a fairly new dealership and doesn't need the BAD word of mouth he's going to get if I'm not made EXTREMELY happy with the solution...

A very recent model Kia would be fine, or any other safe and economical and well-running car. THIS one, once I stuck my head inside and halfway under the engine compartment?? (Where you can see the front end damage...) No way. If they put it on a lift before they took it in trade, they're crazy to have taken it.

Never trust a Damn Yankee (the jerk that owns the place is from Minnesota). I shoulda known better...

Hey!  My favorite brother was born in Minnesota.

So was my favorite fictional small town....Lake Woebegone.

I think the correct term is:  "never trust a salesman"...... ::)

There's a difference between a Yankee and a Damn Yankee.

This guy gets a chance to prove it...

Last night's thunderstorm did not cause water table to rise (visibly) again! Yay!

Yay Pieces!

Been watching the flooding news and rain patterns.

Might we borrow a ton of rain? We're about to have to go without a July 4 fireworks show again, unless they take it onto the lake this time...
=============

About the car. The dealer has it back, assuring me that the electrical fix would be done, or he'd refund... He's had it since yesterday morning, and not a word.

Getting it from where it gave me enough trouble to quit to the dealership? 70 miles, 7 hours, over 2 days. Pushed it with the van a good deal of the night attempt.

Arrrgh. But it WILL be fixed...or replaced.

Finally hurting too much from gas prices commuting 40 miles or so each way in my truck - About $500 a month for gas!
So I bought myself a 2001 BMW R1100R motorcycle, which will run me about $160 a month in gas for commuting. And the payments on the bike are less than half of what I'll be saving on gas. When my Jeep sells, I'll pay off the note (no penalties on that  :D) on the Bike and buy the fairing I want for the Bike, and save even more gas and be able to ride at least 90% of the time.
I love motorcycles.    :D   And I've always wanted, but could never afford a Boxer style BMW.

CAR NEWS!!

OK, the 2003 Echo at the great price is out. Too much time, not enough confidence.

So, we take every penny into the Echo, apply it to HIS COST on a 2004 Kia Spectra that he has on the lot for $9838, and I owe him $707, which he will take at $100 a month. Financing my TT&L out of his pocket.

Slightly bigger than the Echo, (Elantra sized) a few MPG less on the highway. Still has a bit of original dealer warranty left on it...52,632 mileage. Silver, grey interior. And I can depend on it to get me to Louisiana.

Nice guy, really good deal to try to keep me happy. I'm happy!

I've rented one of those Spectras.
I'd be happy to own one of those myself. A thoroughly nice car to drive, and surprisingly roomy for its external size.
I think you'll be happy with it.  :D

So when we drive it to Louisville to visits Dan's sister, do I get to see your motorcycle??

(I don't ride them anymore. I have become accustomed to having mosh of my skin attached to my body...)
