The Misrepresentation of the People Bill will be introduced in Parliament on October 17th by Adam Price (Plaed Cymru) (Wales to non-UK siblings) - otherwise know by the catchy title of "Elected Representatives (Prohibition of Deception)".

It's a juicy topic. I'm not sure criminalising it is the way to go, but accountability and barring from ever being an MP let alone a minister AGAIN needs an overhaul IMO.

Those of us in America are just assuming that politicians don't 'fib', they routinely tell bare-faced lies, even when they know the truth has been known for a long time. Our worst problem is that they stack their evil replacements so deep, it's not even feasible to assassinate the scum to get rid of them, we'd just get worse ones instead...

There's the old joke about 'How can you tell a politician is lying??' Answer, 'His lips are moving.'

It's been supplanted by 'He still has brain stem functions.' because these SOB's will lie when they can no longer claim regular brain activity.
