Here is where you can let the rest of the world know what's going on in this part of the world.

I'll start by this fascinating I can hardly Adam and Eve it piece in today's Observer.

Judging by this link it looks as though at least some mainstream Christians don't want to sup with the  IDers (with or without the traditional long spoon).

Well that's good news but do we trust Alan Johnson to agree - and write to every school????

How can you have such little faith in our government? For instance even now I'm sure, despite all that hospitality, that John Prescott is planning to lock out the American supercasinos from our market, the way they just did with our internet gaming companies. ;)

At least you might get club card points when you vote.

I'm thinking of moving to Henley so I can vote for Boris.

Take 14 PPE students, 2 and a half of whom would vote Tory, expose them to a David Cameron Experience, and they all decide to vote Tory. Even the one who said she didn't believe him. Magic. Good to know we have students who can think for themselves.

I didn't see it. Perhaps they were thinking, back to 1997:

"Will Labour introduce tuition fees for higher education?"

Mr Blair: "Labour has no plans to introduce tuition fees for higher education."

As for presentation, it was Labour who sowed the wind with that one, from the first bungled attempts under Kinnock and the "Sheffieldburg Rally", to the beautifully spun and choreographed party events which today make a Lloyd-Webber musical look under-rehearsed.

Interesting Horizon Docu-Drama tonight (so if you didn't watch it or record it, you've missed it) about David Lack and Darwin's Finches. See wiki.

Informative on evolution of beaks hyped by battle with self (given that he appeared to have proved G-d "inadmissable") ending in conversion to C of E to win bride. A real tear jerker.

Slipped in on BBC4. But main Sat evening slot. Possibly for those not interested in Strictly Come Dancing, or more likely Afterlife.  ;)

Wondering how significant. Is the BBC intentionally delivering a message that religious faith and evolution are not exclusive? How much of a propaganda war is actually going on in the UK around these issues?

Sadly BBC4 is the only Freeview channel I can't get. I could get it then it disappeared. Rang the BBC and they said it had moved to a different aerial on the transmitter and I needed another type of aerial. Did that and it worked for 6 months then disappeared again; that time I gave up chasing it. There's always hope it will re-appear when they finally turn off analogue and boost the digital signal. It's the price of living out amongst the sugar beet (on the plus side we haven't had a drive-by shooting for weeks).

I expect there might be an evolution v ID agenda in the scientific section of the Beeb, but doubt it's a big enough issue here to show up on the radar of the whole organisation.

I've been reading the reviews of Dawkin's "The God Delusion" book, which are quite amusing. 5 stars from all the atheists, and 1 star from all the religious. Think I'll hedge my bets and ask for it for Christmas.

Must be a good book. I've always thought we must be one of G-d's delusions. Drat, time to write the What I want for Christmas list again already. And I never get what's on it.

Good to see you again Goat.
Like the idea of the slides, but that's one tall ex-turbine hall. Do you shoot out the end at 90MPH?

Hi Beagle. just listened to the presenter of Front Row  http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/arts/frontrow/ and an art critic presenting whilst sliding down them. They did quite a good job of it but when presnting from the bottom there were some real screams from the background. They said it was quite disturbingly fast and the tallest one takes 20 seconds.

I think we should organise a UK Toadfish expedition to the Tate Modern to be followed by substantial Staropramen consumption!
