Tech treks, tricks, trips and tips (say five times fast)

Sibling Zono recently mentioned that it might be useful to have an announcement about one particular useful-yet-hidden feature of the forum. This is that announcement. It's also a thread for everyone to post tips about all the convenient tech tricks they've found while trekking around the forum to make the trip more enjoyable.

So, here's what I've go so far:

Accessing the forum from a cell phone?
iPhone users need not apply - y'all have real browsers.
For the rest of us, we'll be in a highly simplified, unwrapped mode. Your phone is *supposed* to figure out one of these links on its own, but sometimes they don't. These three links represent three common protocols of fake-phone-internet, and this forum is capable of formatting itself into any of them:

Are images getting in the way?
We post notoriously large images here, especially in threads like the picture association game or picture counting game. If these make your browser behave in ways you don't like, or they're just too big to see, here's a cute way to employ a little javascript and a bookmark:

Copy and paste it into the address bar of your browser - not in a new window, but above the page where the too-big images are. Hit enter. It'll automatically resize all images greater than 640 pixels in width. If it's still too big, you can fiddle with the "640s" in there 'till you get a good size.

Wanna get really fancy? You can create a new bookmark, but instead of bookmarking a URL, enter that scriptlet into the bookmark's URL field. Now, whenever you wanna do the resize trick, just go to that bookmark.

BTW those 'phone' links work on a regular browser, only much faster, that is useful if you are using a slow connection (like an old modem) or -obviously- in your phone browser (in my case the browser handles the forum but takes ages to load each page). Needless to say that you will NOT see images, emoticons or text effects (like sub, sup, italic, underlined, etc).
