HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2013!

We're having our annual "Coven" Dinner. I'm making the traditional lentil soup and we have some friends coming over with other stuff to share, then we'll take the kids out to trick or treat.

I've got grey chiffon drapery on the front porch, and a bunch of fake crows sitting on the railings. We have green and orange lights, a couple of electric jack-o-lanters, plus the real one which we'll only light on Halloween, and the little punkies we made from turnips and the rutabaga.

Inside I'll put a horrible old (but clean!) lace tablecloth on the table, light candles, and this year I put some little battery-run LEDs in an old glass jack-o-lantern jar I won some years ago at a fair for guessing how many candy corn pieces it held.

Happy Halloween!  Sounds like you've gotten into the spirit are ready to spook it up!

If you need some Halloween tunes, here's a playlist I made for a party last Saturday:

Grooveshark should let you stream it for free with out an account.

Thank you! Those are excellent suggestions!

(I'm listening to "I Put a Spell on You"- love it!)

Thanks! If you have any other suggestions that I can add, please let me know.  I thought it covered a fairly good range of genres and there's a few weird little songs in there that you don't hear everyday, in addition to the staples.

Sibling Zono (anon1mat0)

I will have a loooong 31st as I'm flying back tonight and it takes about 12 hours while at the same time remaining on the 31st. Hopefully it won't be a spooky flight. ;)

Safe travels...  too far to take a broom? ;)

Listening to "Coattails of a Dead Man" right now...  it's good and spooky, but actually about Kurt Cobain and Courtenay Love.  It's also one of the rare tracks where Tom Waits is singing backup (Les Claypool shows up on plenty of Tom's albums; Tom has done a few tracks with Primus, too).

Cool Waits sound on that one.

How about The Cramps' "Goo Goo Muck"?

Aggie

I was mucking through some Cramps songs, but never decided on one for the list (Goo Goo Muck is a good one).  I seem to remember that they had more than a few monstrous ones, but couldn't find the album I thought I was thinking of.

This'd fit:
