During the winter holidays we seem to be even more challenged than ever in our Toadfish Vows. Remember (as I will try to, today) to practice humbleness and tolerance with the people who test us the most- our families! Perhaps it is because we love them that their opinions make us touchy, but in the end they are just people with flaws and strengths, just like us. Let's try to appreciate them, as we appreciate our dear Toadfish siblings.

I love everyone here, each is truly unique and wonderful. Thank you for the present of being you and sharing yourself here.

Lovely pictures, Aggie!  I've never seen deer as tame as that.  Happy Crimble.

Nobody eats them in the neighbourhood - they are top of the food chain here (with the garden, trees and bushes below 'em - the little blaggards are chewing on the presumably inedible Oregon Grape in the second photo and browsing fir trees in the third). 

They are quite fearless - I was playing the stupid tourist and got within 5 or 10 m of a few of them while taking photos, including some of the young ones with their mums.  Asking to get run over by a reindeer, I was.

Unfortunately I did not have my camera at hand when yesterday a mouse nibbled at the oatmeal flakes we put out for the birds on the snowed in balcony. The birds prefer(red) our neighbours' birdhouse.
