We do need to do our own birthday list. I lost my copy in a hard drive mishap, and shan't be fetching a new one.

I gave presents for my birthday this year, and all I got was engaged.  And a turkish coffee pot.

Best Birthday Wishes to All who celebrate the day of their birth on November 2.

And, why celebrate the newest year?  If you're past 30, no need to keep counting anymore-- it doesn't really matter anyway.

Pick a year you REALLY liked, and re-celebrate that one each time from now on.

Oh, a hint for anyone who wants to surprise a special person with breakfast in bed:

Lobster Eggs Benedict.  You only need a small tail to cut in half and replace the ham in a normal eggs benny, but the birthday person will be blown away.  If you use a mix for the hollandaise it doesn't take too long to assemble.  Prawns would be a good substitute, too!

Hi everyone,

Sorry if I lead people astray, my birthday is not the 2nd, rather the 6th of November.  I was congratulating Chatty on being a first week of Nevember person too!  It's just that in re-reading this thread it seems I have given people the wrong idea and I apologise - I am not looking for more best wishes for tomorrow.  Oh, h*ll!  It doesn't seem to matter how I write this, it looks like I'm trying to angle for applause or something.  I think I'll stop digging now...

BTW, in my family this is a busy time of year, my sister's birthday is on the first, mine the sixth and my mum's is on the 14th.  Dad's is on the 11th of December so the last couple of months of the year have always been a sort of hectic season.

Funny how you see things when you're a kid.  When I was about 5, I remember that I knew that the reason everyone let off fireworks on Guy Fawkes night was because it was my birthday the next day!        Well it worked for me!

(The way I figured out that Mom liked my sister best was that HER birthday was on Cinco de Mayo, where there were fireworks and BIG celebrations with live people, not dead ones.)
