The Honorable Order of Toadfish (HOT!) was founded on or around January 6th, 2006. Join us in celebrating our anniversary this week!

Brief History:

The Honorable Order of Toadfish began as a reaction against flaming and general intolerance on other sites. Sibling Opsanus dreamed it up and asked Sibling Chatty (whom sadly we lost last year due to terminal illness) for permission to set it up as a private area (entered only through vows of humbleness) on another site. Sibling MentalBlock set this site up as it's own presence shortly afterward and it slowly grows in population as people who need it find their way here.

We hope you find it a pleasant place and visit often- or better yet, find out more about becoming a full Toadfish Sibling! All who are willing to try harder to find peaceful ways to communicate are welcome.

Happy birthday, monastery!

Will there be lit fish-heads instead of candles on the birthday cake?  ;D

No because that would be dangerous for the squidlings.

It's the fish heads, you know. They would have been Bart's.

A bit of the googling reveals that 4th anniversaries
are recognized with (traditional) Fruit or Flowers:

Sunflower-- gratitude and appreciation

Sunflowers and olives?  Oily!  Let's use the former for massages and the latter for pasta.

Mom made a great fruitcake this year - she uses all natural dried fruits, not those dyed glace cherries and such, and it's much better (and lighter) that the much-hated classic version.  It's always good, but this year it was absolutely delicious. Apparently she slipped with the rum and dumped quite a bit more than usual in it....  coincidence?

Darlica

Sounds jummy Aggi. ;D

What about Lemmon, raspberry or strawberry tartlette? Are they considered fruitcakes or just fruity cakes?

Hmmm I wonder if  a Raspberry/Boysenberry tartlette with a splash of rum would be any good...

I have a feeling we could actually skip the cake an all be toadfishes soaked in rum... :toasted:

On the other hand it's quite risky to light the birthday candles if they are just floating around in the rum...

I've only been here a couple of days, but I love the place.  I'm so glad to have found it, and sad to have missed those years.
As for being a fruitcake: yup, though a rather old one now.  But there are some very bright and very cultured fruitcakes here to set the standard.
Happy Birthday!

*hands around various and random bottle of rum*

People who are fruitcakes I like

However for actual fruitcakes I say we launch them out of a catapult!

Pachyderm

Awesome plan! Giant Cake-Launching Catapults should be installed at strategic points around the Monastery, with suitable ammunition freshly baked weekly.

Dave L might want to use them to shoot at Santa, though.

Nah, not a cannon, the exploding gunpowder will mess the it all up...

A Tartain Trebuchet perhaps?
And for close combat a Savarin Slingshot? ;D
