Michael Criton ( Jurassic Park and The Andromeda Strain ) died. He was 66, lost a private battle with cancer.
Tony Hillerman (notably of the Navajo series of mysteries) died as well. He was 83.
I know-- what a sad week.
Two of my favorites.
The loss of Michael Crichton was indeed a great one (not heard of Hillerman). I read Pirate Latitudes when it came out, and I have the book after that ready to ready in ebook format, but not started it yet. I really need to read it, although it won't be the same. :(

Too young. I'm a great fan. When is a battle with cancer not private? Do you mean by that, that no one knew about it.
On the PC front, we who have had cancer dislike the "battle" word. In fact there's a whole cancer speak that people who haven't had it use which people who had it hate!
Anyway...........:candle:
I love thread necromancy-- re-reading what was written 3 years ago is ... fascinating.
I really ought to keep a journal, if I wasn't so dang lazy, I would.
:D

There is nothing like a little bit of necromancy. It's a record of our opinions in a bygone time, showing us how much the same we are, and also how we've changed.
