That's SKY's take.

Here's the story from Denver.

http://cbs4denver.com/investigates/assisination.plot.obama.2.802827.html

So, with a routine police stop, no fancy-schmancy Homeland Security Patriot Act bullcrap, they stop a bunch of racists with guns and stuff, oh, and a little meth.

Let's hope ALL the attempts are made by such idiots.

(Bloggers from Daily Kos that were staying in the hotel evidently did an on-line play-by-play. Then they checked out to go somewhere they felt was a little safer. The news crews there didn't have that luxury.)

sorry for the ugly talk-- my heart is actually hurting about it. My daughter has been telling me  stories about the open and unhushed talk about 'gettin the N' she has been hearing at school but my heart was still naively hoping that it was just that-- yappin by morons-- I wish that I could retain the possibility of optimism for the human race (not all of us-but sadly many).

Yes presidents (candidates) are subject to this thing-it is always sad and disgusting-but the entire extra added racial slant just makes it so much more so. just my humble opinion.

Living among the Rednecks has definite problems.

Tonight I disabused a 73 year old lady of the MUSLIM!! bullshit.

We discussed his pastor, and how the whole family was Christian, and his upbringing had been in Hawaii, with his NOT MUSLIM grandparents...

(At the expensive prep school, as a scholarship student. BTW, that was the same expensive prep school that the former Whatzisface, ummm, FSM guy that was "at school" in Hawaii---DUKE, went to.)

Then we discussed his education, his work history, his wife, her family, etc.

This sweet little old lady admitted that he'd be a much better President than McCain, that he'd be much better for the country. BUT she was going to have to get one og her great grandkids to take her to vote, because if her son did, he'd watch her vote, and probably kill her if she voted for a N.... This is her UNEMPLOYED because his job went to Mexico, can't find a job VietNam vet with issues son, who won't work with the Texas Workforce guy because HE's black.

I suggested she quit supporting his racist ass. She thinks that's a great idea. Then she said "I don't know where he gets the idea that he's so much better than people of other races. He didn't think like that before he moved up North."

Bigots are everywhere. >:(

I'ma just get out my ass-kickin' boots and start up, I guess.

What's this Biden bloke like? He's only known here for pinching one of Kinnock's speeches (which raises a few doubts...).

Sounds like from a (bad) action movie. Jumped out of a sixth floor window, landed on an awning and just injured his ankle???

Well, at least my prediction seems to have become true  :puke: :aargh: :eeksign:

Lives relatively close to DC, so he rides the train to work at the Senate. For his first 10 years as a Senator, he carried a brown bag lunch, rather than spend the extra $$ on a meal. Catholic, first wife and one child killed in auto accident, remarried later on. Had a kid in Iraq and didn't make a big deal out of it until, in a hearing, an Army supplier was flippant about the dubious quality of his merchandise, and Biden NAILED him about it...politely but firmly.

Has a minor tendency to be---mouthy? Verbose at times, good, sometimes irreverent sense of humor.

WAY the heck down on the "wealth" list, and his relative wealth HAS NOT CHANGED in 35 years in the Senate. Detractors call him the Senator from MNBA, but he's done them no more favors that anyone else. Considering that they are based in his state, he's actually not that nice to them or any other banking group. DID vote for the bankruptcy bill, but so did a lot of other Dems, and was NOT a big fan, probably got manouvered to do so to get support for something he wanted to have pass, since the bankruptcy bill was a foregone conclusion.

Catholic, practicing, but pro-choice, having made a statement (several times) to the effect that HIS religion should not affect the rights of others.

Very high ratings from women's groups, including NARAL (pro-choice's strongest advocates), very good ratings from any progressive/populist standpoint, no matter what the "one-interest" whiners say.

Why is it that white supremacists are always such...  hmm... wonderful examples of the "white race"?

I guess it's easy to know your blood is 'pure' when your family tree looks like a telephone pole. ::)

Because the 'respectable' ones have blended in with the rest.  ::) >:(

Don't worry, not all racists are white, you should hear what some latinos* have to say about Obama. :headbang: :headbang:

*we do have a problem with racism among us, it has never been properly confronted therefore 'it doesn't exist' (yeah, right!)  >:(

Biden sounds OK.   Just tell him on no account to quote Gordon Brown or he might get assassinated by an English lynch mob.

I've wondered before whether Himmler actually possessed a mirror at the time of concocting that blond, blue-eyed Aryan stuff.

Swatopluk

There was a common joke in nazi Germany:
How has an Aryan to be:
1.blond like Hitler
2.tall like Goebbels
3.slender as Göring
4.chaste as Röhm (who was gay)

Or: What intelligent, Aryan German minister(secretary for Americans) did most to increase the reputation of our country?
Guess 1: Goebbels
Answer: I said Aryan
Guess 2: Göring
Answer: I said intelligent
(True answer: Goethe, who was prime* minister in the duchy of Sachsen-Weimar)

*de facto, there was no official office of that title

Thank you.

I actually feel quite a bit better about him as a choice... after reading your take.

And YOUR info, I trust (unlike most of thes interwebz  ::) )

I may just have to modify my usual methodology for voting.

(which is, typically vote against the idiot you simply CAN NOT STAND)

The modification?  Ask Chatty for HER personal take on a particular politician.....  ;D  ;D  :-*

Edit:  looking at the two pukes  @ssholes inbred-morons, er-hem, suspects, I'm not worried all that much.

I have had polite conversation with my collegues about what they thought of Obama's candidacy...

to be honest, now that I live in the South (Nashville,TN), I was actually curious to pick different people's brains on the subject (I personally belive that the color of one's skiin shouldn't matter... politicians will be politicians and they will steal candy from children to get elected...:D)

What really concerns me is...the worst case scenario...

let's say that Obama does get elected...then one of the attemps of his life is successfull...

if I am not mistaken, by the Patriot Act, that would put the country under martial law...

again... I have to research this a little better... but if i am right... it's scary  :tornado:

Might be wrong, but I think it's the Defense Authorization Act of 2006 that you need to look up.

I'm old enough to remember when someone took a pot-shot at Reagan (Sibling Chatty has an unbreakable alibi - she claims).  There was actually an unseemly tussle as to who was in charge, as The-Powers-That-Be sought to convince the Soviets that someone still had the button and now would not be a good time for a sneak attack (not that the Russians, in those days, were quite that mad).
