Help! I lost my private messages!

I know this isn't very intuitive.  There's a little triangle to the left of the home button in the forum.  Not the home on the left side vertical menu, but the horizontal one that is part of Simple Machines Forum.  If you click on that it opens up a little search menu.  In that hidden section there is a menu for private messages.
