Ah, you are right - the clip makes it brutally obvious, although one needs to take a liberal view of crustacean classification.

I was thinking along the right lines on the submarine clue, it seems, but did not chase it far enough (OTOH, some undersea vehicles seek to do it in a grand way so they can fly like Superman underwater).  The light show is sound-specific; should have picked up on that - I was thinking more about black powder effects.

Loudest? I know sperm whales stun their victims with a focalized sound and their clicking is consider the loudest of any creature but I believe other species can be heard at longer distances.

I originally thought that both were names for the same crustacean species.
