Good grief Beagle !  You watch Channel 5 ?

Last that's the channel for CSI and the ads for sex chat lines Post

I've usually just got in from work at 7 and having my tea. The kitchen TV isn't digital so to get the news it's C5 or C4.  C5 is less irritating, just.

Actually C5 these days has some quite good art and travel programmes. C4 has Big Brother.  Hardly ever watch it (C4 that is, never watch BB).

There's a famous old quote from Lord SomeOneOrOther saying something like "I don't have television, but sometimes my butler lets me watch his".

I occupy the middle ground, TV but no satellite or cable.

Yep. You could starve to death watching "UK History" ; endless archive documentaries.

My latest radio doesn't seem able to pick up 2LO.  Perhaps I should take it back.

We have no cable or satellite, thus we get no TV reception!

We live in nowheresville, but it's getting some press! Bad press, but...

Cable and Satellite are purely a class matter in the UK. Cost irrelevant ;) ;)

I wouldn't have cable or satellite if you paid me.

Being only a minor league imperialist lackey running-dog I have to work from 7 to 6, so tea at 4 is out of the question.

Me neither. I used to have NTL/Virgin cable internet, but then I switched to one that worked.

Tea the meal, not the drink....

Tea 4 pm  (as Beagle so rightly pointed out)
High Tea 5 pm
Supper 6pm/7pm
Dinner 7:30/8-9/ pm

The most shocking deviation I came across was one of my bosses in one of my jobs who invited us round for tea at 8:30 pm. The food served equated to high-tea not tea so he even got that bit wrong too.

My boys always had digital watches and elevenses became known as ten thirty fiveses.

2pm is acceptable. It is known as a late lunch. Pity the Finish who lunch at 11:15 am.

I hear it also occurs on Saturdays but rarely during the week.
Pre-noon lunch is not an option. my father gets up at about noon (he goes to sleep at about the time the newspapers are delivered, about 5am). I move towards that too over time.

No, no, no.  Supper is after dinner. About 11:30 P.M. when it suddenly strikes you how long it is till breakfast, and that it would be wisest to partake of an omelette and class of claret rather than risk seven hours of arduous sleeping on an empty stomach.
