WAG is so quick-fire that it's hard to resist.  Yet I still manage to free-associate about 3 words ahead most of the time and then have to retrace.

Picture association often throws up the picture one wants to associate a new to and there is a tendency toward sequences (cars, helicopters) because nobody finds a logical way to get away.
