When I went to replace my tie rod ends a few weeks ago, I found out that my car has a mix of metric and footric on the same PART.

Last Torx-head fasteners are still my favourite, though Post.

On the SAME PART?  ya gotta LOVE-IT!  I must ALSO ask, "WHAT were the Design Engineers THINKING?"

I would agree:  Torx are the bomb!  Either hollow-type or the "reversed" type.  Both hold well, and don't strip (they will usually break at the shank, which is usually easier to fix than a stripped head)

Have you seen the new "tamper-proof" torx fasiners?  They are the hollow-type, with a small pin in the center.  Take a special hollow torx tool.  (Or a correctly-sized drill bit to drill out the little pin ... :eye-roll: )
