I would put that through a translator, but I suspect it will manke no sense.

I actually am glouchester, but before the whole gouging thing. I've got a part talking to King lear, "Tom" or Edgar, and the Foo' about how my son tried to kill me, yet i still love him.

other than that, I'm a knight a couple scenes before that, I'm Kent in the first scene, with the first line, and I'm Albany B in the last scene.

in case I didn't mention before, we're doing tracks, so I of course have differen't parts  in different scenes, and we're doing a condensed version, so it's only 17 scenes long.

nope, no costumes. everyones on stage at the same time, using a different plays set, we can't touch the set, and the only props we get are some wood swords for the fight scenes.

oh, me and my friend have this joke that is only funny in german. it's not even a pun, it's just something he (or was I) said.

and I mangle the german every time, but that's besides the point.

in english, it's "So, Jesus is standing in a bar, and the jesus says "ah, I am jesus, give me a beer, please" and the bartender says "ah, you are jesus! ahahahhaaahahahaaa!""

thought you might be interested.

...and Shakespeare wrote as many as he did because he died after he wrote the last one. :D mere chance, if I'm not mistaken

(I'm running pages of posts behind)

Hmmm, maybe.  Read Prospero's goodbye speech at the end of The Tempest. It reads very much like Shakespeare's identifying himself with Prospero saying goodbye. Always makes the hairs on the back of my neck (and front of my palms) stand up.

Did he scare himself with the power of his language? Did he fancy a retirement growing vegetable marrows in Stratford? Did he think his number was up? Who can say?

I find that jokes sometimes get funnier with translation.

As a teenager, my parents would buy Honey Nut Cheerios a fair bit, and for a while, they had jokes on the back... the English jokes were crappy, and the French jokes were likely crappy in French as well (in Canada, since all the food packaging is bilingual, kids often know how to say "no sugar added" in French before they can say "can you direct me to the supermarket")... but when they were translated into English, they were hilarious (at least to me):

- what is a bee's favourite playing card?  The queen of spades!!!
- what does a bee do in his leisure time?  He plays darts!!!

Yeah, maybe I just have a weird sense of humour.

;D

YAY for cereal-box French! (oddly, when I was a child, my parents insisted that we asked for the milk in French.  Nothing else.)
