I just shifted about 8 yd of books from stacks into a new heavy duty shelf.
I fear I have (finally) run out of room to put more shelves*. They are already at right angles to the main bookcase along the wall.
And I still need room for the journals (another 10 m at my rough estimate and that doesn't even include the stuff already moved to the storage basement.
The sorting I will leave for another day provided I will ever get to it

I have a large number of books downloaded as pdf from the university server. More than I could ever store in physical form (or afford to begin with).
But in general I perfer printed books.

Cloud services prevent those failures but in fairness you are in the hands of the provider. If tomorrow Google decides to close their digital library I would probably miss a few books I haven't downloaded manually.

Sky burial has some appeal, but I'd rather not be devoured by dinosaurs. I could tolerate ravens I suppose (my corvid is improving), not keen on vultures. Somehow being devoured by mammals is more appealing (the insects and annelids are inevitable in either case).  I'd be fine with my carcass being left out in the forest, and given my recreational habits there's a good chance that any premature death will be outdoors, accidental and likely alone.

A plain pine box in the ground would be fine, or some strategic ash-scattering, but constructing a burial mound has crossed my mind, too.

Difficult to get vultures around here. Reestablishing them (Lämmergeier = bearded vultures) in the Alps is unfinished yet (to my knowledge) but Northern Germany has never been prime vulture country. Actual ravens are rare too. Many crows available though.
