Boxing Day now in the UK. People go to the sales but no one has any money, and there's no public transport as all on strike so this pastime seems unlikely. Not much else to do on Boxing Day. I plan to sleep. Meanwhile in other news some mad gunman shot and killed one person and injured another in a pub so maybe avoid going out drinking, not that anyone can afford to do so.

As per regulation all the snow (the little there was to start with) melted a few days ago since - or so it seems - white christmas has become anathema over here. Rain and temperatures about +11°C for the last few days.
Well, at least fewer people will freeze to death (the same is of course not true in the US or Ukraine at the moment).

We had a cold snap before Christmas, but it warmed up considerably for Boxing Day. We built a massive snow fort, approximately 3 m in diameter with 1.6 m walls, a window,  a snow slide and a carved tiger's face on one exterior wall in my sister's back yard. Two children trying to have fun, and three adults in overly serious work mode.  At one point my brother-in-law actually booted the kids out of the fort because they were getting in the way.

Edit: Just cam back from watching Avatar - The Way of Water. Whatever else one can say about this movie, the plot, acting etc., it is without a doubt among the most visually beautiful ever produced.
