If I ever had, a casual googling instantly put me off it. I marvel at what even hobbyists produce en masse with a quality I have no chance to ever match. The only purpose I can see is to use the stuff to illustrate a book of my own with song parodies on themes from classical antiquity. And I will likely use my "Orpheus before Hades and Persephone" mosaic in Latin class as a hook.

If we really want to get the metaphor going, the Titanic sized boat is not exactly under my command, nor I planned the iceberg filled route at full speed, and I'm not wealthy enough to qualify for a lifeboat seat.

Even if we substract all the legends, the main fault was probably with management on dry land and the lack of imagination on part of the regulatory authorities* while the crew was reasonably competent.

*like with Swedens 100%+ income tax because of income beyond (limited) imagination, no one in charge had expected ships the size of Titanic when writing the requirements (Titanic had actually significantly more lifeboats then required).

The details of that accident are very much of it's time, the radio operator that didn't want to hear about the icebergs ahead because he was "busy" with the telegrams of the passengers, everybody apparently drank the koolaid about the "unsinkable" nature of the boat, a key boat close by (the Californian) turned off its wireless for the evening and by the time it decided to do something it was all over, and the first class passengers taking a higher share of the lifeboats and not loading them to capacity.
