That's one of those things that I find mysterious, older languages with higher levels of complexity than their descendants kinda makes sense as those are easier to learn for the conquered, but how did those arose in the first place?

That's something I don't understand either, half lives of radioactive materials can be in the thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of years, but that is nothing in geological terms, how exactly is that they remain radioactive after more than four billion years?
