Strangely enough, the ones I'm acquainted with are more in to wines than lines.  Ditto for the musicians I know, although by the duration of the afterparties, it's surprising that only depressants are involved. Especially in this town.

There's a certain lightness to the buzz of two beers (or one heavily hopped one) quickly drunk. From what I recall of my college chem-lab days, it's quite similar to several good whiffs of ether.

Alcohol has been fairly prominent in my life this year, which I attribute to unintentionally pledging myself to Bacchus by running naked through a vineyard in South Africa under a full moon at Solstice last December. Less than two months later I unexpectedly became a bartender.

That damned Newfie and his band don't help; on my birthday a supposed quiet pint with the boys from choir turned into a serious dent in a case of wine.

I'm pretty sure I exorcised Bacchus on All Saints' Day and will be having a dry November.

I've left my bar job now, other than the odd relief shift, and hope to do something more spiritual. I'm thinking of applying at our local craft distillery, as they are expanding in the spring. I'd like to learn how to run a still.
