I just voted Green party, I never thought I'd ever do that, but it's the only party left which isn't out to damage humanity. It's a wasted vote, so a protest vote. If there'd been a Monster Raving Loony Party standing I'd have voted that.

Considering that your main three parties are pretty much different dresses on the same evil, and that some of your small parties have gone the way of the Loony Crazy Party, voting Green sounds like a great option.

I also consider voting Green in the upcoming European elections. That's the most neutral way not just to waste the vote, I'd say. And it's necessary to vote just to fill up the pool, so the fringers (more or less a constant number) are kept low percentagewise.

After a settling period, post-war Western Germany had three parties to be taken seriously: Christian Democrats*(CDU, conservative), Social Democrats(SPD, moderate left) and Free Democrats (FDP, Liberal/Libertarian). Later we added Green. After reunification the old Eastern ruling party joined the club in a reformed version (PDS).
There have been some changes on the left since then and recently parts of the left SPD fused with the PDS to become the new Die Linke (literally: the left).
