I think humourous people have a higher potential for damage if on the crazy side; a twisted sense of humour is a dangerous thing. It makes for more elaborate "jokes".

A metaphorical one, in this case Wagner's antisemitic pamphlets that were a reaction to Meyerbeer (and likely Offenbach) and later also Jewish (real or perceived) music critics but targeted all Jews. First anonymously published in 1850 they were among the primal inspirations for that infamous Austrian corporal and later German dictator that shall remain unnamed here.
