It does, I just checked, so YES animated gifs as avatars are allowed.

However, animated avatars can become a visual nuisance if too many of them, as can constantly moving smilies. This forum has always been ok compared to some others which give me a headache.

I find lots of flashing, rolling adverts, etc, very very annoying. Makes me seasick.

All depends how things move, how they are located near other moving stuff, colours, lots of stuff really. Hard to describe. I don't have a problem with Aphos' avatar or any of the animated smilies. 

A forum I use always has loadsa :hug:
