Here they tried the slow death and surprisingly the patient survived. Now if they take the fraction of funds of the PBC that come from the federal government a number of rural counties in the bible belt will stop getting the signal, but the overwhelming majority of stations will survive.

According to wiki they did a full relaunch early this year. Radio will be reduced next year in favor of expanded TV and internet.

As a percent of all production, I agree, but I have the feeling that the number of good quality productions is relatively stable, the trick is that now we have 200 channels when before we only had two.
