The LPWB rarely gets eaten (at least by humans). The mere idea would look absurd to most people.
Despite the false connection to the solid fossil fue mines it has (usually) a distinctive non-black colour.
As for the (also false) getting from A to B, it would be a mode typically connected to youngsters (and Southern Europeans in general).
Look in the (not too high) mountains. It's safe now. Within my lifetime it could have been dangerous, especially in a certain direction.

A local resident is known to entertain sexual relations only with yodellers (it is not in the Alps tough).

I explicitly said that the LPWB is not black as far as the main colour is concerned.
Let's put the significant clues together.

It is two words with together three or four syllables (both spellings are in use). The first word has 4 or 6 letters, the second always 6.
One words points towards geography, keywords being resin and seasonal witches.
If you ask Enzi Enzmann, a famous local resident will only go into a sexual relationships with yodellers.*
The other word gives the impression that the whole thing could get you from A to B, esp. if you are a young adult or a Southern European.

Combined many also mistake it for something well-known that many people dislike due to an invisible property (it's almost proverbial).
When people learn what the LPWB really is, they often suspect that it could be found mainly in places where solid fossil fuels are mined. But this is a misconception too. It was far too expensive for that.
It is of a distinct colour that is not black. Although it could be eaten, humans usually will not. There is a strong connection to music.

Bugs are a staple food in many cultures. And who would expect grass in coalmine?
Interesting idea about the mushrooms but unfortunately wrong.
Again, it is not the LPWB that takes you places real or imagined, it is the look of the word that seems to imply motion but does not actually.
And if the mushrooms start to make music, we have a real problem.
When I say that resin and seasonal witches point towards geography  I mean that more or less literally, i.e. those keywords should tell you where geographically to look for the LPWB (which has that piece of geography in its name). It's not on the coast (and not on the American double continent or its vicinity).
