Ayuh, and often too high-maintenance, because they've been force-fed attention all their lives and demand it on a constant basis.  That's as much based on their perception of their own beauty as actual objective beauty, btw.


There are ways to hang out the shop sign, although I never have been one to do any overt advertising.

One completely unexpected approach that I've reconciled myself with lately:  If you are an odd duck, and your ideal partner would be somewhat of an odd duck, don't make too much of a pretense of normality.  Birds of a feather flock together. When I was younger, I often tried to hide the fact I was a weird kid and present a very straight image.  That kind of image is just boooring.   Anyone you get close with is going to find out what you are like deep down anyways, and letting some of that show (in appropriate settings) makes you a more interesting person.  Weird people are interesting to weird people, and it also helps screen out the types that are going to think you're too weird when you open up.



It's not something one should make a complete 180 on, especially if one is a reserved person.  However, and strangely enough, learning to stop worrying so much about what others will think of oneself can rapidly improve what others think about oneself.
