Did you know that in case of methanol poisoning the first measure is to drink ethanol (=clean booze)?

*both are processed by the same enzyme. Adding ethanol as competition slows the processing of the methanol, allowing the body to cope easier with the poisonous products formaldehyde and formic acid. If successful the concentration of those products can be kept sub-lethal. The products of ethanol oxidation (acetaldhyde and acetic acid) may not be healthy but will not kill you as quickly. Pepare for the mother of all hangovers though.

I wish I had some substances which would manipulate the action of those two enzymes.  It'd be dangerous, but if one could slow down / inhibit the first oxidative step while leaving the second intact or speeding it up, drinking would be cheap and hangovers would be reduced.  IOW, the opposite of Asian Flush.

Unfortunately, sitting lazily at home or making the rounds of the numerous museums in town has its own appeal
I could need some extra skills like knowledge about basic economy, how to use SAP software, 2-3 extra languages, the ability to work in hot climates (somehow I got a job offer from a German company for a position in Malaysia, no luck with Scandinavia yet) etc. Not to forget hat I should not only have all of those but be a bout ten years younger. Currently I should hit some books on the REACH regulations. Demand for people with knowledge there shows up in many job ads for chemical companies.
