I'm looking at buying a good felling axe, and am debating single-bit vs. double bit.  The latter would look more dangerous, but may be less safe.  Will have to consult our resident Swedes, as I'm likely to get something Swedish-made.

Since I'm not likely to practice axe-throwing (an actual competitive sport up here) I'd probably prefer the single-bit axe and use the extra money for a pulaski if I want to cut tree roots and the like:
