Good guesses.  Here's another clue to help narrow things down: the LPWB is typically made out of reinforced concrete.

Last Post

Edit:

To keep things clear as far as which clues go with which LPWB word, here are the sum total of the clues so far for this LPWB word:

- two words
- you can find it in the structure of certain buildings
- reminiscent of a food
- the LPWB is typically made out of reinforced concrete

More clues!

- the LPWB can be thought of as something that's present in every reinforced concrete building, but with things removed.
- LPWB word #1 is a food that some people have for breakfast.
- LPWB word #2 is sometimes used as a unit of measurement for (or style of) cake.  Edit: it can also be a unit of measurement for meat or wood, among other things!

Last Mmmm... cake... Post

Kiyoodle the Gambrinous

No idea about the LPWB.

Word 2 is likely 'pound'.  At first I thought it might be layer.

WWDDD?

Sibling Lambicus the Toluous

I don't think there is, Swato.  And www.rhymezone.com agrees.

Want some more clues?

- LPWB word #1, as mentioned, is a food that is often eaten at breakfast.  It is not a pancake, but is often served at restaurants that serve pancakes.
- LPWB word #1 can also be used as a verb; it can be used to describe certain politicians.
- LPWB word #2 is not "pound" or "layer"
- arcane structural engineering clue: the LPWB is typically square, or close to it.  If length-to-width ratio for the area in question were greater than about 2-to-1, something other than the LPWB would probably be chosen (though several LPWBs could be butted together to cover a rectangular area, provided each LPWB is supported along every edge).

Thanks for the link! I am just doing some new Cthulhu songs for Solstice and had to discard some good lines because I couldn't find appropriate rhymes.

In case it comes up, the only rhyme I've found for "maneuver" is "Vancouver".

Last Thanks, Lowest of the Low! Post

Edit: now that I think about it, "Hoover" could work as well.

Word 2 is often used in connection with Thai food.

Edit: Please ignore this 'clue'. It is completely wrong! Sorry.  :-[

Here is my Lovecraftian take on the Mack-the Knife Song

And the Deep Ones they have gill slits
Though they keep them out of sight
Just their foul fish smell's sufficient
For all sane ones to flee in fright

And my poor friend Edward Derby
Got a Deep One for a wife
Now a thing lies on my doorstep
What a way to end one's life

Should you visit run-down Innsmouth
At Gilman House you should not stay
Lock your door and stay awake, dear
Or you might not get away

There are strange things in old Arkham
Don't just trust me, here's the proof
Look to Miscatonic library
There's a Shoggoth on the roof

Randolph Carter has reported
How Harley Warren met his fate
In the crypt he foolishly entered
Hungry undead laid in wait

"If you plan to summon dead ones"
Says a scholar of renown
"Get yourself at least a shotgun
To make sure you can put him down"

You must meet the artist Pickman
Oh, his paintings are so cool
But avoid him when he's working
For his model (it) is a Ghoul

There is buzzing in the night sky
And a whisper in the dark
Mi-Go will soon can your brain, dear
Should you meet them in the park

Are there rats in Exham Priory?
Can you hear them in the wall?
If you do, you are a Delapore
and should prepare for your downfall

A mad Arab named Al-Hazred
Wrote a book called Al Azif
Also known as Nekronomicon
It has brought us lots of grief

In the sunken city of R'lyeh
Waits Cthulhu dreaming dead
When the stars are right again, dear
He will drive us (all) raving mad

Great Cthulhu, Shub Niggurath
Nyarlathotep, Yog Sothoth
Never without two mad flutists
Demon Sultan Azathoth

The Great Old Ones are returning
Soon you too will feel their wrath
|: But for mankind there'll be no place, dear
For they'll destroy all that's in their path :|
