If we follow Roman Catholic logic twisting then that rodent also counts as fish and thus covers both alnd and sea.
What lives in the water (at least part-time) must be fish and can be eaten on Fridays.
Also the duck/goose is actually a plant because they hatch from goose barnacles (German: Entenmuschel = duck mussel) that in turn are fruits from trees standing at the water's edge. Therefore they can also be eaten on Fridays (and during Lent).

In Bogotá when I was a kid the whole lent thing was changed because fish was more expensive than chicken, pork or beef and the poor people couldn't afford it.
