Currently no idea.
Everything I come up with has more than 2 syllables or is more than 1 word. I went down long lists of electronic and micro/nanomechanical items. Excursions into chemistry also proved futile.
My guess is that it has something to do with either a computer display (something below the actual pixels) or with a fine structure in electronics (e.g. something on the surface of a chip).
