I just watched the 2008 film Milk - and was quite shocked that it was all news to me. Granted I was busy having my first child in the late '70s but that doesn't really excuse me. The end made me cry, even though we knew at the beginning he was going to be assasssinated.
What was it about? I've not heard of it.
Gay rights in the US, and specifically San Francisco. Harvey Milk was a gay rights activist and ended up assassinated. The film, I thought, was excellent. It was interesting in that it seemed as alien to me as women not having the vote; shows how times have moved on.
