Hi Sibs !

      Hmmm... this heat exchange is a great idea for drying clothes but...It will require energy to pull the heat down ( remember heat likes to rise ) . I think a solution would be to solar power the pump/fan or use wind power to ones advantage .

Also , if one pulls the heat down from the attic ( remember higher temperatures means that the air can hold more moisture ) one may be bringing in moisture laden air into a cooler (than the rest of the structure ) basement . The cool air causes the vapour to condense which should alert the launderer that the space is moisture saturated , the clothes will take longer to dry than it would without attic heat . The moisture laden heated air would rise once more  making the abode very uncomfortable.

The answer to one of the above problems is to remove the moisture before pulling it down , but what to do with the moisture the wet clothes will bring ? How about the heat rising back up again ?

I think Mama Nature is the best clothes dryer.
