Cuemish - a practical joke played by prompters at the theatre. In the standard version the cue given is from a slightly different part of the play or it goes off the tangent to another play. A different version cues puns with an intent to make the player corpse.

A famous one occurs in Wagner's Ring. Erda has to sing "Weiche Wotan, weiche" (Go away, Wotan, go away). But weich also means soft. The prompter (or the man playing Wotan) will whisper before that "Was für Eier willst du, harte oder weiche?" (How do want your eggs, hard-boiled or soft?)
