Cockatiels are generally cuddly, good tempered, and are better to receive what I would call mistreatment* than other parrots, but if you want them to be happy they are quite demanding. If you really want to get two** I can tell you what to expect.

* in general terms being all the time in a cage isn't the kind of treatment they should receive, and be left alone for long periods of time is also a form of abuse IMO.

** if a parrot is to be left alone during the day he better have company or (s)he may start having mental problems. They will bind with a member of the family and they expect to be with that person all the time. If they have company is better for them when you're not home and so far in our experience they socialize better.
