Actually?  I have it on excellent authority, that Cheney had his heart removed long, long ago, and preserved in a jar of salted pickle-juice.

It was replaced with a cold, dead piece of plutonium, which does not so much beat, as it thrums.   This makes Cheny's teeth ache, which is why he is so cranky all the time.

On the other hand?  He has no heart to break, so he's not inhibited in any way when it comes to torturing people-- Cheny literally cannot feel remorse about....anything.   Came in handy during King Bush's reign.

Okay, okay-- so what were these alleged "heart attacks" really about?  It turns out, the surgeons did not get his entire heart out-- there were bits and pieces left in him-- and 5 times, he almost felt remorse-- emergency surgery was the only option.
