Thank you for all the support. Sadly he is intent on pressing the issue even though the equity is now less than my investment from my pre-marriage assets, and I am seeing my lawyer on Monday. I am not completely comfortable posting further about it or leaving my original posts here since I now understand some things I did not before, but I really do appreciate the kind words, thank you.

I don't know anything firsthand but I've been given to understand that both Zan and I have been more or less "blackballed" from the hidden areas by the person who invited us here in the first place. I feel really uncomfortable with that. I'm not sure if I'm going to stick around or not.

I am not drinking anything yet, but I should be drinking tea.

I'm sick again/still, with some weird virus that gives me the opposite of a fever and makes me sweat horribly, at the same time. I also have a blocked tear duct, which is not making me feel pretty.

Thanks for all the support, you guys. It means a lot. I've been so stressed out, but the good news is that the refinance is moving forward and the house appraisal came back at almost $115k lower than it appraised for last time, which means there is essentially no equity worth fighting over. First time ever that this recession did me any good...

Anyway, yes, this is not about men vs. women. There are plenty of men I know who have also had terrible marriages to selfish people, and many of the most supportive people in my life right now are my male friends, including Zan.

Funny story, I forwarded the whole appraisal to my ex, and he sent me back this snarky email asking where I "managed to find this free appraisal". Huh? I emailed him back, asking how on earth he came to the conclusion it was free? It's part of the refinance package and it cost me $500! Nobody would do a detailed appraisal like that for free, WTF...

Thanks, Darlica and Scriblerus. I really should take him to court... and yeah, he would have to pay me pretty significant alimony, most likely. I was just hoping we could call it even and be quit of him without it. :( Thanks for letting me vent this here.

I remember something about that at the time.

Wasn't there something weird about his cheating?  I can't remember what it was, but there was something really odd.

The tedious, endless theme music for a lollipop-creation game my six-year-old daughter is playing on the Internet.

My housemate is a chemistry PhD student, and an excellent cook. She does, however, often cook using recipes from old German cookbooks, which tend to lack precise measurements.

I just started an anthology of failed relationship stories called "Love is a Four-Letter Word".

You've heard of HSM Theory?  :o

I expounded on this at length a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. ;)

HSM Theory? Do tell!

I maintain that there is only *one* particle, which flits back and forth through time, doubling and re-doubling itself to appear as if there are quadrillions....

:)

I have always maintained that the world is made up of a single particle. At least, I've maintained something along those lines since that one cocktail party when I got really drunk and had to be rescued from some guy who tried to follow me into the bathroom, and then after my friends made him leave I passed out on the couch.
