I saw one pundit expressing the opinion that since Biden had been in the Senate with Moscow Mitch at one time, the two would be able to work together.  I wanted to point out to him that both Obama and Biden had been in the Senate with Mitch and there was no sign of McConnell wanting to do any sort of business with them.  It was all obstruction.

And even if the Dems win both senate seats in Georgia, Moscow Mitch already has a willing accomplice in at least one Dem senator who is on the record that he will not support getting rid of the filibuster and, so I hear, has promised to vote with the GOP on certain topics. So, complete blockade is almost guaranteed. And that includes any and all appointments for the administration, in particular the cabinet.

And some important stuff needs more than an 'acting' person but a senate approved one. No problem under Jabbabonk since not doing stuff (e.g. at the EPA or the Consumer Protection Bureau and even worse at the National Labor Relations Board) was the whole game.

There are different levels of bad, from the total disgrace of a landslide victory of DT (which blissfully didn't happen), to the current poorly planned attempts of a coup, to losing both houses, to reaching that unlikely 50-50 in the senate that at least would allow some level of work to be done, even if it is the bare minimum.

I'd love to say that their efforts are desperate and pitiful but the fact that the party has been willing to run with the whole thing and only a few voices have shown a bare minimum level of awareness is very disturbing to say the least.
